Colophane 2000 Gold & Silver
Master Rosin for Violin - Viola - Cello.
This formula is manufactured in France by Millant-Deroux.
Sebastian-August Deroux, a well-known violin maker born in Mirecourt. He was born in Mirecourt in 1848 and moved to Paris in 1884 where he developed a rosin, Colophane Deroux. Mr. Deroux has one daughter, who married Leon Millant. The rosin making business was taken over by his grandsons, Max and Roger, when he passed in 1919. They further improved the formula and added their name. Later,
Mr. Bernard Millant succeeded his father Max, and his uncle Roger and produced this famous rosin until December of 1975. Bernard was followed by Mr. Snorri Thorvaldsson, who developed additional formulas and still kept the popular original. More recently, his son, Alexandre, assumed control of the company. Alexandre is fully committed to producing the best rosin he can. All of the rosin is produced in a century's old farmhouse outside of Lyon, France.
